In December 2004, Stingray Bay opened at Kelly Tarlton’s Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World. RPT supplied all the R-Cast™ acrylic for this new tank, a tank that holds nearly 93,000 gallons of saltwater (350,000 liters). The open-topped tank is 8.5 feet deep (2.6m) at its deepest point and provides visitors with nearly unimpeded views of the stingrays it contains, including Phoebe, a ray that weighs in at about 550 pounds (250kg).
