Virtual aquarium by Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. captivates visitors at grand opening of Macau City of Dreams Casino

The virtual aquarium, using rear-projection technology, is one of the largest in the world to showcase aquatic life digitally. Manufactured by Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc., the panel featured mermaids "swimming" in the water at the grand opening to enchant guests.

Cotai, Macau, China (PR.com) July 20, 2009 - Mermaids swimming through a massive virtual aquarium made out of acrylic manufactured by Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. (RPT) greets guests at the stylish new City of Dreams resort and casino complex in Macau, China. The unique installation contributes to the upscale, trendy atmosphere of a casino aiming to rival those in Las Vegas in size, amenities, and grandeur.

Called the Vquarium, this extremely large rear projection panel projects video of marine life - including mermaids - for visitors to admire.  This panel measures nearly 61 feet wide (18.5m) and 22 feet tall (6.6m) and was constructed in several pieces for ease of transportation and for on-site installation. Tipping the scales at 11 tons (10,000 kg), visitors are sure to catch a glimpse of underwater life as they stroll through the resort and casino complex.

At eight feet in diameter, the water sphere lends a tranquil effect in an otherwise bustling casino. RPT manufactured the sphere to ensure perfect balance to allow the water to spill from the top down the sides uniformly.

Cotai, Macau, China (PRWeb.com) July 20, 2009 - The ever-growing possibilities of designing with acrylic greeted visitors at the opening of the new City of Dreams resort and casino complex in Macau. There, a massive acrylic globe-shaped, illuminated water feature was unveiled that was manufactured by Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. (RPT).

"This spherical water feature challenged us in several ways," said Roger Reynolds III, CEO of ICM. "We embraced those challenges and excelled in manufacturing a sphere that is as elegant and functional as it is large."

Contracted by sister company International Concept Management, Inc. (ICM), RPT engineered and manufactured the sphere to exact specifications. Exacting measurements and precise manufacturing were required in order for the sphere to function properly as a water fountain. Any surface that was not level would mean that water would not evenly spill out of the top hole of the sphere and down the sides. RPT ensured that the sphere was as perfect as possible when it came time for installation.
