The aquarium in the Hakata ferry terminal holds about 6,000 saltwater fish for visitors to see. With a diameter of almost 30 feet (9m) and a height of 26 feet (8m), the aquarium can be viewed from multiple levels within the ferry building. Containing various sting rays, sharks, Moorish idols, and kaiwaris, the tank recently went through a renovation to update lighting and the artificial reef.
