Project Details

The Atlantic Sea-Park at Alesund Aquarium gives visitors a new perspective on underwater marine life. Three R-Cast™ acrylic panels allow for a nearly panoramic view of the underwater life – creating a viewing area almost 61 feet wide (18.6m) and nearly 15 feet high (4.5m).

This viewing area showcases marine life from all coasts of the Atlantic Ocean, particularly in the waters surrounding Norway. Species are selected that dwell in various ocean depths, including marine life from deep water habitats. But, in order to withstand the pressure at the depth at which these were installed, the panels needed to be cast 10 inches thick (over 25cm). The nearly seamless bonds mean that visitors to the park get a nearly unimpeded view of the underwater world beyond.
