Project Details

The Dangerous Reef exhibit at Ripley’s is part of an 87,000 square foot (about 8,000 square meters) aquarium that allows visitors a chance to see a side of sharks they may not have seen before – their bellies. With the help of a moving walkway, visitors are moved through a 750,000 gallon (2.8 million liter) saltwater shark tank. The walkway is submerged at the bottom of the shark tank and encased in a 330 foot long (100m) R-Cast™ acrylic tunnel to allow for crystal clear views of the sharks swimming overhead.

Considered to be the most visited attraction in South Carolina, the sharks in the Dangerous Reef exhibit are up to 10 feet (3m) long and share space with stingrays, sea turtles, and other reef fish.
