Three Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. R-Cast® products invited to be part of renowned designer’s exhibit at a commercial architectural and interior design show in Chicago.

Chicago, Ill. (PRWeb.com) June 23, 2011 – Decorative architectural resin materials by Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. (RPT) decorated a portion of Grace Jeffers’ exhibit at NeoCon 2011 in Chicago at the Merchandise Mart.

Jeffers_dura_005_1-2501R-Cast Textures, R-Cast Dura, and R-Cast Mirage were part of Jeffers’ special exhibition of her 100 favorite materials. The curated display was in the new Materials Pavilion on the 8th floor and was dedicated solely to materials that can be used in the design community.

Of RPT, Jeffers explains: “Today there are many companies that are supplying resin panels to the Architecture and Interior Design communities. The translucency of polymer resin panels brings the look of immateriality and increased light to an interior. I feel that Reynolds is an important voice in this dialog. Their history predates the competition and this translates into problem solving know-how that the design community would be wise to recognize. I am delighted to have them represented in this exhibition.”

“We’re excited to have our materials selected by such a renowned designer,” stated Matt Houlihan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at RPT. “She is so well known in the design community, so to have her show some of our products in her own exhibit is truly an honor.”

Jeffers_R-CastIce_LightBlueJeffers is a well known design historian and corporate consultant whose passion lies with bringing a greater understanding and appreciation to materials. She has penned more than 400 design articles and her 400,000 word tome on materials, “THE NEW MATERIALS HANDBOOK,” will be released by Thames & Hudson next year.

Featured in her exhibit was R-Cast Mirage, a product that reproduces translucent images and graphics onto acrylic panels using a special dye sublimation process. This allows for unlimited design possibilities as the graphic or photo can be fully customized to suit the décor.

RPT also provided several R-Cast Textures samples, including R-Cast Ice in clear and light blue colors. The undulating surface of the R-Cast Ice product is completely randomized and one of a kind as it’s made entirely by hand. Because of the surface peaks and valleys, it pairs well with lighting to really give depth to the textures.

The last product provided, R-Cast Dura, is a Class A / Class I fire-rated material. The milky white material can be used alone or as a substrate with R-Cast Mirage product. Thinner gauges allow for a soft glow to radiate from the panel when backlit. The self-extinguishing nature of the material helps designers conform to strict fire codes while maintaining integrity of their design.
