Ozeaneum

Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. manufactured all of the windows and smaller feature tanks throughout the Ozeaneum in Stralsund, Germany.

The Highly Engineered Acrylic tunnel installed in the North Sea exhibit measures nearly 25 feet long (7.6m) and sits 12 feet (3.7m) beneath the surface of the water. Visitors are treated to seamless, 270 degree views of the marine life swimming in the water around them.

Additionally, RPT supplied the acrylic viewing windows for several other exhibits including the North Atlantic Ocean exhibit, considered to be the highlight of the North Atlantic exhibit as a whole. Because these windows are nearly 30 feet (9.1m) beneath the surface of the water, the acrylic needed to be cast 13 inches (330mm) thick in order to withstand water pressure. Several 12 foot high (3.6m) panels were bonded together vertically to create an expansive view of this underwater environment.
