Reynolds Polymer Employee Resource Foundation Donates $1,000 to Food Bank of the Rockies
Organization’s first-Ever “March Meal Madness” event successfully achieves goal and provides 4,000 meals to local families
Grand Junction, Colo. (March 29, 2019) – Reynolds Polymer Technology, the world’s leader in fully integrated, highly engineered acrylic solutions, and the Employee Resource Foundation hosted an internal fundraiser throughout the month of March in order to support Food Bank of the Rockies. The philanthropic event that Reynolds coined “March Meal Madness” collected donations from employees every Friday of the month and successfully reached their goal of $1,000.
“Instead of compiling food items, which can quickly perish, be damaged or be costly, we collected funds to donate to Food Bank of the Rockies,” said Todd King, Global Logistics Manager at Reynolds Polymer Technology and President of the Employee Resource Foundation. “The benefits of providing direct financial support to the food bank far outweigh contributing food items, as the organizations are able to purchase more inventory than a traditional food drive can supply. Even a quarter can provide a meal to someone in need.”
Through the Employee Resource Foundation’s “March Meal Madness” event and donation, Food Bank of the Rockies can continue to fulfill their mission of serving the local community by providing quality food options sourced from local grocers, manufacturers, wholesale farmers and ranchers. 96 cents of every dollar goes to actual food distribution programs and 4 cents is allocated to administration. Due to greater purchasing power through the food bank, for every $1 received, 5 pounds of food, which equals four meals.
“We are grateful for this partnership with Reynolds Polymer Technology and appreciate their commitment to the greater Colorado community,” said Sue Ellen Rodwick, Western Slope manager at Food Bank of the Rockies. “The impact of these donations does not stop at our specific facility either. The proceeds extend to our partners as well including Homeward Bound, The Salvation Army, Kids Aid and more.”
Reynolds Polymer Technology will be presenting the “March Meal Madness” check to the Food Bank of the Rockies on Wednesday, May 15 at 3 p.m. Those interested in attending the presentation as well as learning more about how to volunteer with Food Bank of the Rockies are invited to attend at Reynolds Polymer Technology’s headquarters located at 607 Hollingsworth Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81505. As dedicated partners, both organizations look forward to developing additional community programs together in the near future. For more information on Reynolds Polymer Technology, visit our website.
